Our CEO, Ray Cancino — who also serves as Vice President and Advocacy Chair for @mealsonwheelsca— proudly joined MOWCA Executive Director Willy Gloria at this week’s Aging Well Summit hosted by Kaiser Permanente.Together, they represented Meals on Wheels California among statewide leaders, advocates, and experts working to strengthen care and connection for older adults across the state. For Santa Cruz County and our Central Coast communities, this advocacy couldn’t be more timely. As the number of older adults continues to grow and the cost of living rises, demand for services like Meals on Wheels for Santa Cruz County is higher than ever. We’re proud to have our local leadership helping shape statewide solutions that ensure every senior can age with dignity, independence, and the support they deserve. 🌿#MealsOnWheels #MealsOnWheelsCA #AgingWellSummit #HealthyAging #SeniorNutrition #CommunityBridges #SantaCruzCounty #EssentialServices ... 🌅 A new symbol of resilience is rising in Pajaro.Community Bridges and Hijos del Sol are proud to partner on a landmark public art project that honors the strength, culture, and unity of the Pajaro community — the Pajaro Resilience Mural. This collaborative mural is a living story of recovery and pride. Designed by renowned artist José Ortiz and his team at Hijos del Sol, the piece reflects the heart of Pajaro: its deep agricultural roots, its vibrant blend of cultures, and the collective spirit that carried neighbors through the devastating 2023 floods.Over the past year, residents, youth, and local leaders came together through community meetings and design sessions to share their stories and ideas — shaping a mural that truly belongs to Pajaro. The final artwork captures the resilience, renewal, and hope that continue to define this small but mighty town. This project represents a milestone in Pajaro’s long-term recovery efforts and stands as a testament to what’s possible when art, community, and compassion meet. Together, we’re painting a brighter future one brushstroke at a time.🎨 Join us this weekend to celebrate!Come meet the muralists, enjoy live music, food, and family activities, and be part of the unveiling of this new community landmark.📅 Pajaro Resilience Mural Community Day🕚 Saturday, October 11 | 11 AM – 2 PM📍 417 Salinas Road, Pajaro 🎉 Free and open to everyone.
