California’s poverty rate was 17.3% in 2025, with nearly 7 million Californians lacking enough resources to afford basic needs like food and housing.New analysis from the @California Budget & Policy Center shows economic hardship has returned to and now exceeds levels seen before the pandemic. These numbers are deeply concerning and reflect challenges we see in our own community, where the cost of food, housing, and other essentials continues to put pressure on local families.At Community Bridges, we remain committed to addressing childhood and adolescent hunger and strengthening family success through WIC, CACFP, and our Family Resource Centers.
