Community Bridges and Nonprofit Partners to Host Local Candidate Forum

Santa Cruz County, CA — Community Bridges and nonprofit partners Nonprofit Connection Santa Cruz County, Ventures, and Human Care Alliance will host a forum with local supervisorial candidates from the 3rd and 4th Districts on May 25th at 4:15 p.m. via Zoom.

The event is free and open to all attendees.

What:            

Local Nonprofits host County Supervisor Candidate Forum to learn more about candidate’s views on

Santa Cruz County support for food security, health care, early childhood education, fire recovery, and

the issues that matter to Santa Cruz County families.

When:                

May 25th at 4:15 p.m. via Zoom. Register Here: https://communitybridges.org/events

Who:                   

The free event is open to all attendees. 3rd District Candidates Justin Cummings and Ami Chen-Mills are

confirmed and 4th District Candidates Jimmy Dutra and Felipe Hernandez are also confirmed. The event 

is open to all officially filed and declared candidates appearing on the June 7 ballot.

Format:              

Candidates will open the forum by giving brief opening statements about their candidacy. They will each 

be asked to respond to several previously developed questions before opening the floor to attendees to 

engage with the candidates directly.

Spanish translation assistance will be available to attendees.

🌅 A new symbol of resilience is rising in Pajaro.Community Bridges and Hijos del Sol are proud to partner on a landmark public art project that honors the strength, culture, and unity of the Pajaro community — the Pajaro Resilience Mural.This collaborative mural is a living story of recovery and pride. Designed by renowned artist José Ortiz and his team at Hijos del Sol, the piece reflects the heart of Pajaro: its deep agricultural roots, its vibrant blend of cultures, and the collective spirit that carried neighbors through the devastating 2023 floods.Over the past year, residents, youth, and local leaders came together through community meetings and design sessions to share their stories and ideas — shaping a mural that truly belongs to Pajaro. The final artwork captures the resilience, renewal, and hope that continue to define this small but mighty town.This project represents a milestone in Pajaro’s long-term recovery efforts and stands as a testament to what’s possible when art, community, and compassion meet.
