CORE FUNDING

Help Protect Services for Families and Seniors in Santa Cruz County

On Tuesday, June 28, the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors will vote on the budget to determine funding for Family Resource Centers, Elderday Adult Day Health Care, and Early Education Division child care centers.

CORE funding recommended cuts to Community Bridges services by 65%, or more than $816,000 every year for three years, July 2022 through June 2025. 

Advocate to keep CORE funding. Let your voice be heard.

  1. Call your County Supervisor at (831) 454-2200 or email BoardOfSupervisors@santacruzcounty.us. Click here for a script in English and Spanish.
  2. Attend the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, June 28 at 9am at 701 Ocean Street Rm 525, Santa Cruz, via Zoom, or by phone. View meeting agenda here.

Your generosity is helping us tackle diaper scarcity and ensure no parent has to choose between diapers and food. As Community Bridges WIC Program celebrates its 50th anniversary, your support continues a legacy of care, allowing us to serve thousands of pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under five each month. In the last 15 months, our WIC Diaper Program has provided 1,476 packages of diapers (59,040 diapers in total) to families in need through partnerships and parent outreach. Each pack makes a tangible difference, easing financial burdens and protecting the health of our community’s youngest members.Thanks to your support through Santa Cruz Gives, we’ll be able to continue this invaluable service local parents and children.While we didn’t reach our $15,000 goal, we are incredibly grateful for your support.
