Final Advocacy Push Against H.R. 1 — Pint for a Call Event TONIGHT

Community Bridges is hosting a final advocacy push against H.R. 1 — the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” — tonight, Wednesday, July 2, from 4 to 8 PM at two local breweries: Fruition Brewing in Watsonville and Discretion Brewing in Soquel.

To encourage civic action, Community Bridges will buy attendees one pint (or a non-alcoholic beverage) if they make a call to a member of Congress regarding the bill.

Why:

H.R. 1 threatens to slash vital safety net programs including CalFresh (SNAP) and Medicaid (CalFresh), putting millions of Californians at risk of hunger, eviction, and illness. With the bill moving to the House, local voices can still make a difference.

Who:
Open to the public. Hosted by Community Bridges, a local nonprofit serving more than 20,000 children, families, and older adults across the Central Coast.

When & Where:
Wednesday, July 2 | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

 Fruition Brewing
918 E Lake Ave, Watsonville, CA 95076

 Discretion Brewing
2703 41st Ave Ste. A, Soquel, CA 95073

Visuals:
Community members making advocacy calls, signing letters, enjoying a pint, and speaking out to protect vital services.
