The 39th annual Mountain Affair will be held at Highlands Park Senior & Community Center in Ben Lomond on Friday, October 25 from 5-9pm benefiting Mountain Community Resources.
The Mountain Affair brings together community leaders to build a strong valley community by supporting essential services at Mountain Community Resources. This festive annual dinner features fine cuisine, local wines, live music, and silent auction showcasing valley businesses.
Celebrate resiliency in our valley strong community by joining us at the 39th annual Mountain Affair supporting essential services in the heart of the San Lorenzo Valley providing showers, laundry, food distribution, counseling and crisis support for 1,000 residents each year.

We are thrilled to introduce this year’s Mary Hammer Green Heart Award winner: Tia Verches. Named in honor of Mountain Community Resources’ founder, this prestigious award was created to recognize recipients’ extraordinary contributions to MCR and the San Lorenzo Valley community.
Tia exemplifies the heart and spirit of Mountain Community Resources. For the past five years, Tia has generously dedicated her time to MCR’s food pantry, volunteering on her days off from her role as an ICU nurse of the past 18 years.
Join us on Friday, October 25 to celebrate Tia and the many supporters that make our community stronger every day. You can honor Tia by making a donation to Mountain Community Resources’ essential services for the San Lorenzo Valley.
Celebrated veteran singer songwriter based in Santa Cruz, Gary Blackburn brings together smooth vocals and stylized guitar picking to his original compositions and familiar covers in the Country, Rock, Folk, Blues genres.
With influences from James Taylor to Tom Petty, Merle Haggard to Steve Earle, Gary shows his versatile folk blues side along with high energy rock to produce what Gary likes to call, “Americana with an Edge”.
Originally from the San Joaquin Valley just north of Merle’s home and the Bakersfield Sound, Gary has been jamming in Santa Cruz since the late 1970’s.
