Meals on Wheels for Santa Cruz County

Meals on Wheels Live Oak Site and Kitchen Update

Community Bridges has submitted a letter of intent to the Live Oak School District to purchase the Live Oak Senior Center, which has served as Meals on Wheels for Santa Cruz County’s headquarters for decades. You can read more about the offer by CLICKING HERE.

As we wait for a response from the Live Oak School District, we continue operating on a month-to-month lease at the 1777 Capitola Road site. We will keep you updated as we learn more. Rest assured that home-delivered meals will continue to be served and congregate dining sites will continue to operate.

“I’m retired, but before that I was a teacher, a welfare worker, an editor of a music magazine, and even a cabbie. Thirty-five years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Now I’m really disabled, not walking… MS is no joy. If it weren’t for Meals on Wheels, I’d be in big trouble. I’m so glad that we found each other. You guys saved me.”
